Jamaican Patois to English translator
A rule-based engine does the work: tense and aspect markers, the copula system and the plural marker are applied explicitly, and every word tells you where it came from. A language model only refines the draft, and only when the rules are unsure.

Idioms are matched first, then grammar rules for tense, aspect, negation and the two copulas, then the lexicon word by word, and finally regular sound-to-spelling rules for anything left over. Confidence is derived from how much of that was verifiable — not guessed.
